In the early morning hours of August 28, 2023, my peaceful slumber was abruptly shattered by the unmistakable sound of an object falling to the ground. Stirred from my light sleep, I initially dismissed the noise as inconsequential, but my instincts told me otherwise when I heard a resounding thump shortly afterward. Something was awry, and I knew I had to investigate.
Living in the Los Angeles Hollywood Hills area of California had its somewhat perks in seeing wildlife, with its animals ranging from hawks, deer, raccoons, skunks, coyotes, possums, bobcats, and the whisper of mountain lion sightings. Aware of these potential four-legged encounters outdoors, I had diligently prepared for any unwanted confrontations by acquiring Frontiersman Bear Attack Deterrent. Little did I know that this morning, it wouldn't be the wildlife of the hills that would test my mettle, but a human intruder attempting to violate the sanctity of my home.
